The Difference Between Electric Motor and Hydraulic Motor

2021-06-03

The main difference between a hydraulic motor and an electric motor is that the power source is different. The energy source of the hydraulic motor is the pressure potential energy of the hydraulic oil, and the energy source of the electric motor is the electric potential energy.
Hydraulic motor:
Hydraulic motor is an executive element of the hydraulic system. It converts the hydraulic pressure energy provided by the hydraulic pump into the mechanical energy (torque and speed) of its output shaft.

Hydraulic motors are also known as oil motors. They are mainly used in injection molding machinery, ships, hoists, construction machinery, construction machinery, coal mining machinery, mining machinery, metallurgical machinery, shipbuilding machinery, petrochemicals, port machinery, etc.
Features: It has the advantages of small size, light weight, simple structure, good manufacturability, insensitivity to oil pollution, impact resistance and low inertia. Disadvantages include large torque pulsation, low efficiency, low starting torque (only 60%-70% of rated torque) and poor low-speed stability.
